Congrats To Mitch & People Really Do Win

Long time friend of the Morning Show Mitch Seabaugh has resigned as the Georgia State Senator for District 28 in order to accept an appointment by Governor Nathan Deal as the new Georgia Deputy State Treasurer.  We first met Mitch when he was running for his first term back in 2000.

The new Deputy State Treasurer of Georgia, Mitch Seabaugh

Mitch has been a frequent guest on the Morning Show through the years, often being accompanied by his wife, Leah.  (Leah makes an outstanding rhubarb pie by the way.)  Mitch was our go-to-guy whenever there was something shaking at the state capitol, to help explain new laws that were going into effect, or the effects of redistricting.  Mitch's most recent visit was on Friday, July 1 of this year when he talked about several new laws going into effect and served as the judge of our "Great Summer Slaw-Off", a "cooking" contest of sorts.

Congratulations to Mitch on this new phase of his political career.  There will be a special election on November 8 to fill the rest of Mitch's term, which runs through December 31, 2012.  Mitch is scheduled to be with us on the Morning Show this Friday.

Casting Crowns has a new project hitting the streets in two weeks, on October 18.  It's called "Come To The Well."  And Mark Hall has a new book coming out, "The Well".  (Are you noticing a theme here?)  Casting Crowns also kicks off our Fall Concert Series on October 20 (details here).

The new project from Casting Crowns is available on 10/18/11

Mark Hall is scheduled to be our guest tomorrow on the Morning Show.  Hope you'll be able to catch part of the conversation.  As always, we'll post some audio here after the show.  See you in the morning.
